What You Can Do To Stop Frozen Embryos From Being Tossed In The Trash.

Posted by Catherine Morgan on April 10, 2007

This is a one minute video that demonstrates what is currently happening to unused frozen embryos from fertility clinics. The senate will be voting this week to either support Stem Cell Research, or to put more restrictions on it. Please go to my political site “INFORMED VOTERS” to see more information, and to send an Email to the Senate asking them to support Stem Cell Research.

This is shocking … but suggesting that experimentation is the alternative is a logical non sequitur. We have rituals and social mores for putting human remains to rest. Think of the families of the 9/11 victims who sifted through tons of debris for any identifiable cells of their loved ones. We would not accept a hospital, nursing home, or mortuary throwing bodies or body parts into the trash. We do not allow experimentation upon humans in the vegetative state. Embryos are by every scientific definition likewise unique, individual, living and human. Parents and institutions that accept the awesome responsibility for creation of embryos in vitro should be required by law to make written plans for the dignified disposal of any embryos that are not implanted.
