Go Confidently In The Direction Of Your Dreams, Without Fear.

“Go Confidently In The Direction Of Your Dreams” — Henry David Thoreau

With the pressures of daily life, do any of us really have time to think about our dreams? Do we even know what our dreams are? Kids know what their dreams are, just ask them…What do you want to be when you grow up? It is always such and easy answer for them. But once we do grow up, then what? Is is too late for us?

What if we never realized, that we might have been forgetting to follow our dreams? Worse than that, what if we thought we were following our dreams, but it turned out that we were living a nightmare? Then what? Is it too late? Do we get a second chance at our dreams?

The Energy That Surrounds Us All – How To Tune Into Your Light And Your Soul

Posted by Catherine Morgan on February 26, 2007

We all know that there is energy surrounding us that we never see. Radio waves, micro-waves, these are energies that are all around, but we never see them. If we didn’t have micro-wave ovens, or radios, we wouldn’t even realize these energies exist.

Even though we can not see something, it does not mean that it doesn’t exist. Take our country for instance…..Did America only exist once it was discovered? During the time before America was “discovered”, had you tried to tell anyone that if you went to the end of the “flat” earth you would come to a country called America…..well, they would have just thought you were crazy. The same is true for radio waves, even before the invention of the radio, they existed. So what is real and what is not real, is a very complicated thing. Just because we see something, doesn’t mean it is there, and just because we don’t see something, doesn’t mean  it’s not. Have I lost you yet?

I’m writing this post to tell everyone that I learned how to add pictures and videos to my posts. I know most of you may not think that this is such a big deal, but since I just started blogging a few weeks ago, everything new is a big deal to me. Anyway, I added pictures to most of my posts, and I would love to know what other people think.

So, if you have a minute or two to check out my sites…..that would be great. Thanks.

In The End Only Kindness Matters — Click on the song at bottom of this post.

Posted by Catherine Morgan on February 22, 2007

This is a post from January, when I first began this blog. Back then I didn’t know too much about blogging…..still have a lot to learn. Anyway, I did learn something new a few days ago… to add a YouTube Video to my post. So, I thought I would re-post this and include the song by Jewel, that was my inspiration for writing it. So at the end of this post is the music of Jewel….I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

ONLY KINDNESS MATTERS — by Catherine Morgan

Jewel has a song, and in it she sings….”In the end, only kindness matters”. Those are very profound words. I would even say, that these are words to live your life by. Because, it is so true. In the grand scheme of things, we are here on earth only a very short time. Many of us spend much of this time being angry at people, making judgements on others, and generally just not being as kind as we could be. So, the question then becomes….How can we change that? How can we live a more kind life?

Who Will “Stand By You”?

Posted by Catherine Morgan on February 21, 2007

This is a post from a few weeks ago, I am posting it again, because I figured out how to add the song to it. So, it’s just a quick read, but then if you want, you can click on the video below to hear the song.

WHO WILL “STAND BY YOU”? — by Catherine Morgan

One of my favorite songs to listen to is, “I’ll Stand By You” by the Pretenders — you can play the song at the bottom of this post. I was listening to it today in the car (while riding home from my mammogram). I began to think about how nice it is to know that someone will “stand by you” no matter what. As a mom, I will “stand by” my kids no matter what…I think they know that (especially since I play the song all the time and tell them). The song always makes me think about how lucky people are when they know (really know) that they have someone who will “stand by them” no matter what.

Sometimes when we are feeling down, and life isn’t going our way, and we feel all alone…..That’s the time we find out who will “stand by us”. It’s sad in a way, that it takes tragedy, or pain to find out who the people in our life are that will “stand by us”, even in our darkest hours. The people who are like angels on earth to us–Connie. The people who were like angels on earth to us–Becky. The people that pick us up when we feel like we are in a never ending free fall of grief–Dawny. The people who save us when we just want to die–Vicki. The people who support us when we can barley support ourselves–Frances Ellen. I feel sad for the people who have perfect lives and never get to really find out who these people are in their lives. It is truly the one great blessing that comes out of our heartache and pain.

Leave Worry And Negative Thoughts Behind — Steps To Help You Solve Your Problems

Posted by Catherine Morgan on February 20, 2007

We all carry around stress and worries about problems in our lives, some of us more than others. If you are one of those people that can’t stop worrying about all the problems in your life, then this article is for you. Worrying about our problems only adds to our problems, and no amount of worrying about a situation is going to make it better. Letting go of negative thoughts and worries is an important step in our overall happiness. Hopefully these steps can help you get passed some of the problems that have been bothering you, and allow you to let go of the negative thoughts that block you from your true happiness.

Take some time and write down all the problems that have been bothering you. Write each problem on a separate piece of paper, make sure you cover ALL the problems, the big ones and the little ones. For 10 problems, 10 separate sheets of paper. Do this when you have some time to really get a complete list together — Sometimes going to bed a few minutes earlier than you normally do, can be a good time to do this, and provide you with the quiet time you need.

At this time also write down the reasons for wanting to solve this problem, and what you hope to achieve by resolving it.

What Are Life’s Greatest Lessons? Could It Be Our Failures Teach Us More Than Our Successes?

Posted by Catherine Morgan on February 19, 2007

When we begin to take our failures non-seriously, it means we are ceasing to be afraid of them. It is of immense importance to learn to laugh at ourselves” — Katherine Mansfield

What I think this quote is saying, is that the importance of failures in our lives, will only be revealed to us, once we stop looking at them as failures. What we learn from our so-called “failures”, are usually the greatest lessons in our lives, and we need to open our eyes so we can see that.

It may even be that life lessons learned through what we perceive as our failures, are greater lessons than what we learn from our successes. Most success comes from letting go of our fear of failure, and being willing to take some risks. People who are successful in their lives, are not people who have never failed. They are people who have learned from their mistakes, and pushed ahead past their fears, to get to their successes.

THE-ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT DIET PLAN — by Catherine Morgan

You heard right. All you can eat. And it’s not a gimmick. How can that be? All you can eat diet? No diet is all you can eat? Well you are right, and wrong. No starvation or quick fix theme diet, is ever going to be an all you can eat diet. And we all know there is no pill or powder that allows you to eat anything you want and still lose weight. So, what exactly is an ALL YOU CAN EAT DIET?

Everything Changes, Nothing Ever Stays The Same.

Posted by Catherine Morgan on February 14, 2007

Tiger Swallowtail Butterfly IMG_0146-1

This isn’t “breaking” news. We all know that nothing stays the same. We all know that life is constantly changing. However, I think that we all under-estimate this fact in many ways. What I mean is, when things are going great in our lives, we don’t think about the times that they weren’t so great. And, when things are going badly and we are feeling sad, it is sometimes hard to remember that we were ever happy. In both these cases, it is important for us to not only remember, but to also reflect.

The following is from an article found at Depression is nothing to be ashamed about, all of us will feel depressed at some or many points in our lives, and knowing when to seek professional help, can be what saves your own life, or someone you know. It’s been an awful couple of days. Nothing seems to be going your way and you wish you could have stayed in bed today. Maybe that would help you get over the gnawing emptiness that’s been plaguing you this week.

Does this sound familiar? To some, it sounds like the week after a close relative passed away, or maybe the week you found out you didn’t get that job you wanted. For others, it may sound like every week. So how do you know if that empty, sad feeling is just the temporary blues or a serious depression?

The Power of Positive Thinking

Posted by Catherine Morgan on February 9, 2007

This is an article from a site called Success Consciousness. I hope you like it.

The Power of Positive Thinking — by Remez Sasson

Positive thinking is a mental attitude that admits into the mind thoughts, words and images that are conductive to growth, expansion and success. It is a mental attitude that expects good and favorable results. A positive mind anticipates happiness, joy, health and a successful outcome of every situation and action. Whatever the mind expects, it finds.

Not everyone accepts or believes in positive thinking. Some consider the subject as just nonsense, and others scoff at people who believe and accept it. Among the people who accept it, not many know how to use it effectively to get results. Yet, it seems that many are becoming attracted to this subject, as evidenced by the many books, lectures and courses about it. This is a subject that is gaining popularity.

If You Want To Attract Love, Be A Loving Person

If You Want To Attract Love, Be A Loving Person — by Catherine Morgan

Did you ever notice that angry people tend to attract other angry people? That greedy people, enjoy the company of other greedy people? Just like we choose to associate with people in our lives that have similar interests as we do, we are also unconsciously choosing people that are putting out that same emotional “frequency” as we do.

So, who cares? Well, you should. That is; if you are interested in “attracting” people into your life that are kind, caring, and loving, and not angry, bitter, and hateful.

4 Tips To “Living In The Moment”

Posted by Catherine Morgan on February 6, 2007

Living In The Present Moment — by Catherine Morgan

Are you only concerned with adding days to your life, and forgetting to add life to your days? If so, you are not alone. This is a problem many of us have, and the reason we should all try to make a conscious effort, to live in the present moment.

When we are living in the moment, we are totally immersed in what we are doing. I’m not suggesting in any way, that we should attempt to live in the moment 100% of the time, as much as it would be great if we could, it’s just not practical. To do that, we would be setting ourselves up for failure. What I want you to do, is just make an “attempt” at living in the present moment, this is a positive start, and in the right direction. So, how can you start? Well, you start with “awareness”.

Do You Know An OnLine Bully?

OnLine Bullying

Posted by Patrick Moore

on Mon, Sep 25, 2006, 2:00 am PDT

In England, there is much discussion of the phenomenon of bullying. In fact, the Brits have gone so far as to create a website, Bully OnLine, that details strategies for dealing with bullies at work, at home, on the playground, and even on-line. Looking at the site, I wondered why we so seldom discuss this behavior here in the United States. After all, the U.S. is often accused of acting like a bully on the world stage so perhaps we need to consider that criticism and see if it provides an insight into American culture. As Bully OnLine states, “…bullying is the single most important social issue of today, for the study of bullying provides an opportunity to understand the behaviours which underlie almost all conflict.”

Can Evolution and Creation Co-exist?

Posted by Catherine Morgan on February 4, 2007

I know when we talk about evolution and creation, immediately a line is drawn, and you are either on one side or the other. But, at the risk of causing an uproar, I would like to suggest an alternate opinion. Why can’t evolution and creation co-exist? Who decided that if creation exists then evolution can’t, or that if evolution is correct then there could be no creator? It seems to me, more likely that they both exist. Let me explain.

Deadly Tornado in Central Florida — Be The Change In Someones Life — Donate To The Red Cross

Posted by Catherine Morgan on February 2, 2007

Less than twenty-four hours ago, I was sitting at this computer, and working on a post for my blog, when that annoying sound came over the television. You know the one, the….this is a test of the emergency broadcast system. However, this time it wasn’t a test, it was a voice notifying the people of my county that a tornado was being tracked, and we should go to the safest area of our house. I quickly through some pillows and blankets into my closet (in the middle of the house, the safest place we have), woke my kids, got our cat and our puppy, and huddled in the closet, off and on for the next two hours. At 2:30am, the local news was saying that the threat was over, but we all ended up sleeping in the same bedroom just in case. It turned out, shortly after we went to sleep, more tornado warnings were issued, and a deadly tornado came true Central Florida. I began getting concerned phone calls from family and friends at about 9:30am, that was when I first learned how bad the tornadoes had been, and how close we had come to losing our home and possibly our lives.
