Four Steps To Living In the Moment — by Catherine Morgan

First, be conscious of what you are thinking. Make a mental note whenever you find yourself focusing on something negative. Are there certain things that come up more than other things? Most likely, your negative feelings are based in something from your past, or something you fear in your future.

Second, write down on a piece of paper, some of the negative thoughts that are coming up more than others. Just try for two or three right now, you don’t want to be overwhelmed. If in a few days, you find that this exercise was helpful, then by all means, go back and work on a few more issues. Just take it slow, no rush, no pressure.

    I really love this photo. Did you take it? I’m having some negative feelings about blogging right now. And I really enjoy it as a rule so it is a conflict. I can’t just shut things down for a week until the feelings pass. So I need an exercise like this perhaps.

    No, I didn’t actually take this photo…I Googled it. I’m a writer, but I always like to include a photo or image with each of my posts. I feel like the “visual” gives the reader a “feeling” of what the post will be about.

    Thanks for your comment and interest in this post. As far as your blogging, I would say there is never a need to totally stop (that I can imagine), but taking a break of a week or two, or even just posting something small once a week is fine. Blogging is what ever the blogger makes it, there are no set rules, so you can just make them up as you go along.

    Thanks for those encouraging words. One thing I decided to do was start a blog about being an unmotivated blogger and not wanting to blog. That sounds perhaps like a contradiction. But it helps.

    Contradictions can be fun, too.
