Autism: The Disease, The Debate, and The Devastated Families – by Catherine Morgan

This week in a New York Times article, the debate continued over the cause and treatment of Autism. A family once united is now divided.

A year after their grandson Christian received a diagnosis of autism in 2004, Bob Wright, then chairman of NBC/Universal, and his wife, Suzanne, founded Autism Speaks, a mega-charity dedicated to curing the dreaded neurological disorder that affects one of every 150 children in America today.

The Wrights’ venture was also an effort to end the internecine warfare in the world of autism — where some are convinced that the disorder is genetic and best treated with intensive therapy, and others blame preservatives in vaccinations and swear by supplements and diet to cleanse the body of heavy metals. — read full article,

But for those of us who don’t know too much about autism…What is autism? What are the sypmptoms of autism?

Apple Bottoms Out Another Climate Survey

This is some information from a new site called Climate Counts

Everyone’s talking about global warming, but what can you personally do about it? Companies and the things you buy from them have a huge impact on climate change. When you make climate-conscious choices, you’re sending a message to companies that climate change matters to you.

UPDATED: Finding Out The Truth Of The Universe By Recreating The Big Bang

Posted by Catherine Morgan on April 11, 2007

The gargantuan ATLAS particle detector is seven stories tall. Physicists hope to use it to answer fundamental questions about mass, “dark matter” and perhaps even discover extra dimensions to space-time. CERN

Finding Out The Truth Of The Universe By Recreating The Big Bang — Bringing Creation and Evolution Together – by Catherine Morgan.

I have always been interested in science, particularly in Quantum Physics. So, this story is extremely exciting to me. In just a few months, we may soon understand exactly how the universe began. I have put together several articles and videos that I think you will find very interesting, and I will continue to update this post as new information becomes available. This is the largest and most expensive experiment ever to be done, and the information here does not require you to be a scientist to understand. I hope you find it as interesting and exciting as I do.

The Goddess

Global Warming is such a huge problem, one that makes an ordinary person feel they may not be able to do anything to stop it. But, there are things we can do to help, I found a great web site that addresses this, and I wanted to share it with all of you. We all contribute in small ways to the greater good of the world, with every action that we take, even when we don’t realize it. Even small changes that we make, will have a ripple affect that can eventually become I huge wave across the world. So, why not start now? And make a difference for our grandchildren and great grandchildren, by making small changes in our lives now that could help reverse the effects of global warming in the future?

CAN EVOLUTION AND CREATION CO-EXITS? — by Catherine Morgan

I know when we talk about evolution and creation, immediately a line is drawn, and you are either on one side or the other. But, at the risk of causing an uproar, I would like to suggest an alternate opinion. Why can’t evolution and creation co-exist? Who decided that if creation exists then evolution can’t, or that if evolution is correct then there could be no creator? It seems to me, more likely that they both exist. Let me explain.
